A New Year, A New Team and a New Venue
On Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th August 2011, the second South Holland Food Festival took place in Spalding's picturesque 5 acre gardens of the grade II* listed Ayscoughfee Hall Museum. The Festival's organisers were delighted with the new venue which drew praise from visitors and participants and provided a superb backcloth for the event.
The Festival continued to promote the quality foods for which the area is renowned and offered a showcase for a range of activities for all ages. Starring roles in the cookery theatre were taken by Rachel Green, Karl Sergison, Carl Smith and the trainees from Spalding's Sage Restaurant creating mouthwatering dishes before fascinated crowds.
In 2010 the South Holland Food Festival attracted almost 7,000 attending the final weekends "Food Fair", a figure comfortably exceeded in 2011. The Festival's new organisers, South Lincolnshire College, were thrilled with the Festival's success and by the obvious enjoyment of the event by all concerned.
